Lucknow: The arrest of miscreants in the protests against the Agneepath scheme is going on continuously. Till Saturday evening, in total 29 cases registered in 12 districts, 340 miscreants have been arrested. This includes 145 people arrested under section 151 of CrPC and 195 arrested in other cases on charges of breach of peace.
In this, maximum 43 miscreants have been arrested in Mathura in violence and arson, while the maximum number of 109 people have been arrested in Ballia under Section 151 of CrPC. In the cases, 41 in Jaunpur, 36 in Varanasi commissionerate, 35 in Aligarh, 20 in Mirzapur, 15 in Gautam Budh Nagar commissionerate and five miscreants have been arrested in Chandauli.
Similarly, 109 have been arrested in Ballia, 27 in Mathura and nine in Agra under Section 151 of CrPC.
Earlier, 415 accused have been arrested so far after the disturbance on June 3 after Friday prayers. A total of 20 cases have been registered in this case in 10 districts. 21 policemen and 14 civilians were also injured in these incidents. Maximum 97 accused have been arrested in Prayagraj, 85 Saharanpur, 58 Kanpur Commissionerate, 55 Hathras, 41 Ambedkar Nagar, 40 Moradabad and 20 Firozabad.
