Political stalwarts fondly recall the legendary Kalyan Singh
Lucknow: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled a grand statue of Kalyan Singh in front of the headquarters in Lucknow Municipal Corporation premises in the presence of Lucknow Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia.
The statue of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and former Governor Kalyan Singh was unveiled by Defense Minister of the country and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh in presence of Lucknow Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia in the Municipal Corporation located on Trilokinath Road, Lalbagh.
On this occasion, Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia welcomed the Defense Minister by presenting him with a flower bouquet and a statue of Lord Lakshman. Thereafter, the councilors and employees’ organizations of the Municipal Corporation also welcomed and greeted the Defense Minister.
The Defense Minister, who reached the Municipal Corporation, presided over the program, along with Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Education Minister and late Kalyan Singh’s grandson Sandeep Singh, the statue of Hindu Hriday Samrat Kalyan Singh was unveiled.
In the history of Municipal Corporation Lucknow, as the first Defense Minister of the country, on coming to the Municipal Corporation premises, the Defense Minister was welcomed and greeted by the women employees of the Corporation by showering flowers.
On this occasion, Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia said that in order to establish the statue of revered Kalyan Singh, there is no proper place than the place in front of the municipal corporation. Maybe, that’s why this decision has been taken so that the future leaders who are prepared here can move forward with the inspiration of good governance.
The Mayor said that Antyodaya was the main pillar of Babu ji’s government, a grand statue of Hindu Hriday Samrat revered Kalyan Singh ji, an exclusive devotee of Lord Shri Ram, who devoted his whole life for the welfare of the people.
The Mayor further said that the former Chief Minister and former Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Kalyan Singh was the leader in Indian politics, whom history can never forget. During his time in power his decisions were clear and fearless. The most important thing in politics is to be the Chief Minister in power and in power, in such a situation, he had given up power for the sentiments of the people for the construction of Shri Ram Mandir.
The Mayor said that today if a grand Ram temple is being built in Ayodhya ji, then the brick of foundation has been laid by the revered Kalyan Singh ji, the supreme devotee of Lord Shri Ram Lalla.
The mayor further said that till the time Kalyan Singh ji became the Chief Minister, the education system of Uttar Pradesh was at the lowest level, where there was a nexus of copying mafia.
The Mayor said that respected Rajnath Singh had played an important role as education minister at that time along with revered Kalyan Singh ji, who brought about a copycat ordinance by making radical changes in the field of education. The pair of these two lions had written the script of good governance by giving a new message in the field of politics, that is why today we have called respected Rajnath Singh ji to unveil this great work.
Mayor announced the name of a ward in the name of Kalyan Singh ji
On this occasion, Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia announced the name of a ward as “Kalyan Singh Ward” while dedicating it to former Chief Minister Shri Kalyan Singh ji.
The mayor said that the bronze statue of former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh is 12 feet high and its pedestal is also 8 feet high. Altogether a 20 feet tall grand statue has been installed.

Kalyan Singh ji did very important work in the field of education. I was the Education Minister, twice the copying ordinance proposal could not be passed, so I met him and told him and he got it passed by discussing it first in the next house itself. He was rich in willpower.
In the meeting of the National Executive and the National Council, he was the only Chief Minister who got the most importance. He had a reputation at the national level. The way he achieved success on law and order was discussed all over the country.
Law and order was either fine during the reign of Kalyan Singh or it is in the present Yogi Adityanath government.
Even at that time, the law and order of respected Kalyan Singh’s government was discussed in other states, similarly today the law and order situation of Yogi Adityanath’s government is discussed in the whole country.
We all citizens know very well what was his role in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement.
When the Babri demolition happened, I went to his residence and said that the structure has collapsed, our government may also fall, then he said that even if 100 such governments have to be demolished for the construction of Ram temple, then I am ready.
In the previous governments, where there was ease of doing crime, there was ease of doing business in the government of Kalyan Singh ji, similarly today there is ease of doing business in the government of Yogi ji and bulldozers against the criminals.
Worrying about the village, the poor, the farmerThe Chief Minister was Kalyan Singh. He used to talk to the workers very easily. No worker ever felt that he is such a big political person. Whatever is discussed about his memories is less.
