Poor garbage disposal to attract a fine now

Lucknow: Director Local Bodies Neha Sharma inspected the Compost Processing Site located at Police Line, Lucknow. The director inquired about the process being adopted regarding garbage collection from the houses. Under the solid and liquid resource management project, wet and dry waste is being collected separately from about 200 houses living in police lines. Natural disposal of garbage is also being ensured here.

Director Neha Sharma expressed satisfaction regarding this. During this he also talked to the local people. He made the local people aware to promote composting in a natural way. Also, talking to the local people, appealed to put wet and dry garbage in separate dustbins.

Director Urban Body Neha Sharma said that to ensure scientific disposal of garbage, segregation is necessary in the houses itself. To create awareness about this, under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), 10 door to door campaigns are being run from February 01 to March 31.

After appealing in the first phase, agreeing in the second phase, now this campaign is entering the third phase. In the third phase, challan action will be taken for not ensuring waste segregation under the door-to-door campaign from March 04 to 10.

He said that the role of the women of the household is important in ensuring waste segregation. By giving full participation at the ward level, under 10 door to door campaign, 3 women who have excelled will be honored at the body level. They will be selected through the Clean Environment Promotion Committee.

A three-day workshop has been organized by the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) Uttar Pradesh in connection with the disposal of wet waste under solid waste management in the auditorium of the Directorate of Urban Bodies. The training was provided by Mr. C. Srinivasan, an expert from Indian Green Services, India, an empaneled organization by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. On Wednesday, the third day of the workshop, a local compost processing site was visited for practical exposure. In this workshop, participants from 25 bodies came to participate for training.

On this occasion, State Mission Director, Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) and Director Local Bodies Mrs. Neha Sharma, Deputy Director Training, Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) Dr. Sunil Kumar Yadav, Expert C. Srinivasan, Divisional Program Manager Vaibhav Pandey and others were present. . After the day-long training program, the participants were awarded with certificates.
