Post COVID, enthusiasm high to be an Ayurveda Expert
Lucknow: In the post Corona world, both academicians and students are taking great interest in the field of Ayurveda. There is not only growing scope of Ayurveda, there is also a renewed interest in the stream as an alternative medical health discipline. At Goel Group of Institutions, the Goel Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital looks at disrupting that space even further.
The hospital has 7 well qualified & experienced consultants. The Medical College has well qualified & experienced 4 professors & 8 assistant professors. It has a 24 Hr functional Hospital. The hospital is also running modern OPD and On Call Modern Doctors (allopathic). The Campus has a Separate Hostel facility for Boys & Girls. It has a huge playground with all the equipment’s for sports. The institution boasts of a large number of well-equipped seminar Halls and one auditorium with 700 seating capacity. It is noteworthy that online counselling for admission to undergraduate courses in Ayush colleges of Uttar Pradesh has been going on from January 7. At the same time, the counseling of PG started from January 5. National Informatics Center (NIC) conducted the counseling for BAMS in Ayurvedic colleges, BHMS in homeopathic colleges and BUMS in Unani colleges.
Registration happened between January 7 to 11, then the security amount was deposited. State level merit was issued on 14th. College choices were filled on 15th and 16th and seat allotment was done on 17th. There was a verification of original records at nodal centres from 18 to 21. Allotment letters were issued on 24th and applications for seat upgradation were made on the same day. After the release of the result on 25th, everyone had to enroll till 27th.
A total of 6929 seats in all of Uttar Pradesh are up for grabs. Director Homeopathy & Member Secretary of UP Ayush UG Counseling Board, Dr. Arvind Kumar Verma said that by January 24, the candidates took admission in the allotted college after verification of documents and issued their seat allotment letters. If the candidates are not satisfied with the allotted seat and feel that a better college can be found, then they will opt for seat upgradation.
There are 1029 seats in Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) course in Homeopathic colleges, 5296 in Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) in Ayurvedic colleges and 602 in Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) course in Unani colleges. In view of the forgery in admission last year, the candidates are being verified thrice. Counseling is being done through National Informatics Center (NIC) instead of private company. Candidates can participate in online counseling through the website (www.upayushcounseling.upsdc.gov.in).
There are 502 BAMS seats in eight Government Ayurvedic Medical Colleges. There were 5010 seats in private colleges, due to non-fulfilment of standards, admissions will be done on only 3400 seats. Homeopathic has 826 seats in nine government medical colleges and 200 seats in two private colleges. There are 128 seats in two government Unani colleges and 670 seats in 18 private sector colleges.
A multi-level system of verification of certificates has been made. Online verification will be done from the Aadhaar card of the candidates. Shreetron India will do the verification on behalf of NIC. After this there will be verification at nodal centers. Then the team will also verify documents on reaching the college. Admission will be done after verification of letter issued for admission.
Special Secretary of AYUSH Department, Sukhlal Bharti, is the Chairman in the committee formed for counselling. Arvind Kumar Verma has been made the secretary. As Ayurveda representative, Principal of Government Ayurvedic College, Jhansi, Prof. Ravi Prakash and representatives of Directorate of Unani and two private colleges are also included in the committee. Prof. PC Saxena has been made the secretary of the committee. Representatives of all the three disciplines and representatives of private colleges are also involved.
