Lucknow: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote a letter to the Chief Minister calling for a CBI inquiry to be conducted in the journalist Sulabh case.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, National General Secretary of All India Congress and in-charge of Uttar Pradesh has demanded a thorough investigation into the death of journalist Sulabh Srivastava under suspicious circumstances in Pratapgarh. Vadra said that hundreds of people have died from Aligarh to Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh with spurious liquor, in such a situation, when news is run against liquor mafia by a journalist, then he is killed.
There is an apprehension of danger, due to which journalist Sulabh Srivastava had appealed to ADG Prayagraj for protection on June 12, but he was not given protection and just a day after that, the journalist’s body is found under suspicious circumstances at some distance from the city. There has also been talk of serious injuries in the head of the journalist, in such a situation, it is necessary to have a high level investigation to break the nexus of liquor mafia and administration, so there should be a CBI inquiry into the said case, as well as immediate financial assistance to the relatives and dependents of the deceased journalist.
