Project Elderline continues to provide the aged help when all doors are shut

Lucknow: The corona epidemic in the state engulfed the breadwinners of some families of the state and due to their demise, their old family members started facing problems. At the same time, some elderly people were forced to live on the sidewalks of the roads, separated from their loved ones due to poverty and helplessness. There are some elderly people whose children are outside, or due to the pain of life and lack of money due to lack of helpless children, they face problems when they are deprived of medicines, food items, residential facilities etc. All kinds of assistance is being given to the senior citizens by subsuming the various schemes run for the elderly in the state under the newly launched “Atal Vayo Abhyudaya” scheme by the Government of India.

Keeping in view the problems of the elderly during the Corona period, the Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath  has given emotional support, health service and treatment, legal aid, arrangement of old age homes, financial, psychological etc. to the people above 60 years of age.

For this, “Elderline” has been started in the state. Which is proving to be very helpful for the elderly. In the Corona era, this project has become a support for the elderly.

This scheme of the Government of India is being fully assisted to the elderly people through Project Elderline, implemented in the state for the welfare of the elderly. Under Elderline, the elderly of any district of Uttar Pradesh, urban and rural, can get help by calling the free toll helpline number 14567. Elderly call on this helpline every day and they are being given necessary help by the government. So far, various types of assistance have been given to about 7 thousand elderly people of the state. With this scheme implemented by the state government, Uttar Pradesh has become the first state in the country to help the elderly. Implementing this scheme run by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, the Chief Minister of the state, Yogi Adityanath, has started its implementation in the state. This project Elderline is applicable in all the districts of the entire state and elderly people are getting benefited from it. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has also praised Yogi  for the facilities/assistance being given to the elderly under this scheme.

Under the state’s Elderline Project, any elderly person can tell his problem from 8 am to 8 pm on the free toll number 14567, whose related problem is resolved immediately. From the phone received on this free helpline number, all kinds of help is being given to senior citizens regarding health problems, medicines, food items, legal aid for family disputes, keeping them in old age homes, etc. Along with this, they are being given physical, mental, psychological, economic, social, mental strength and emotional support. For this work, work is being done by the team formed in the state. Thousands of elders of the state have been assisted by this project and are continuously taking help.
