Pushkar Singh Dhami releases half-yearly souvenir/directory of Uttaranchal Press Club
Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami released the half-yearly souvenir/directory of Uttaranchal Press Club at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the State Government is constantly working for the welfare of journalists.
Assuring to start an insurance scheme for journalists in the state on the lines of Madhya Pradesh, he said that the rules there would be studied in this regard.
The Chief Minister also instructed the Director General of Information, Banshidhar Tiwari, to complete all the formalities related to the construction of the Press Club building and to implement the earlier announcement regarding giving permanent recognition to the journalists who were active during the state building movement.
Press Club President Ajay Rana and General Secretary Vikas Gusain thanked the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for the steps being taken by the government for the welfare of journalists. The club executive also praised the Chief Minister for the initiative of the government on the recent death of the leader Sushila Baluni, for the initiative of the Chief Minister’s night rest in the villages and for issuing orders soon for the implementation of the announcements, adding that such steps are sending a positive message among the common people.
General Secretary Vikas Gusain urged journalists to provide golden card facility to journalists like employees under Atal Ayushman Yojana. Former president of the club, Jitendra Anthwal, while drawing the attention of the Chief Minister towards the Rs 20 lakh insurance scheme for journalists being run by the Madhya Pradesh government, urged that the government should introduce a similar insurance scheme for journalists in Uttarakhand on contribution basis. Club President Rana and former President Anthwal urged for the transfer of land for the construction of the club building soon.
Along with this, he also drew their attention to the earlier announcement regarding permanent recognition to the journalists who were active during the state building movement. On this occasion, Senior Vice President of the club Rashmi Khatri, Junior Vice President Darban Singh, Joint Ministers Rajeev Thapliyal and Meena Negi, Treasurer Manish Chandra Bhatt, Executive Members Dayashankar Pandey, Faheem Tanha, Mangesh Kumar, Ram Anuj, BP Kukreti, Subodh Bhatt etc. were present.
