Mumbai: This Diwali, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan’s clash will be seen continuously at the box office. Both the top stars of Bollywood, Ram Setu and Thank God are releasing in theaters on the same day i.e. on 25 October. According to the reports, the total budget of both the films is around 140 crores.
At the same time, trade analysts believe that this film, which is releasing on the occasion of Diwali, will be successful in bringing the audience to the cinema halls. The film, which was released on the occasion of Diwali due to Corona last year, did not get as many viewers, but this time it is expected to be a blast at the box office. Last year’s Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi created a ruckus on Diwali but trade analyst Taran Adarsh feels this year is going to be even more spectacular as all restrictions for cinema watchers have been lifted.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh says that people will definitely go to theaters to watch movies and both Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu and Ajay Devgn’s Thank God will get good business. In fact, last year there was only 50 percent occupancy due to the covid protocol, yet the film Sooryavanshi did 26 crores business on the opening day.
This time the box office maths will be different and will be better than last year. At the same time, if reports are to be believed, some theater owners believe that due to the release of superstars’ films on the same day, the audience gets divided and this affects the business of the film. At the same time, trade expert Atul Mohan believes that the audience is now used to the release of many films on Diwali. Let us tell you that this year the box office business was not good with Bollywood. Akshay Kumar gave three consecutive movies Bachchan Pandey, Samrat Prithviraj and Raksha Bandhan flop.
Due to these films, the makers had to suffer a loss of more than 400 crores. After this, Akshay released his fourth film ‘Katputli’ on OTT while playing the mind game and the film was a hit. At the same time, if we talk about Ajay Devgan, then this year his film Runway 34 proved to be a superflop. The film could not even recover its cost at the box office. Now the films of both the stars Ram Setu and Thank God are being released. Both the films belong to different genres.
