Results of the Khelo India program are for all to see : CM Yogi
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath felicitated the state’s medal winners and participants in the Commonwealth Games-2022 and the 36th National Games-2022 at the ‘Alankaran Samaroh’ organized at Raj Bhavan in the series of Uttar Pradesh Day programme.
Medal winners and participants in the Commonwealth Games-2022, 14 sportspersons were given prize money and mementos of a total of Rs 05 crore 30 lakh at the investiture ceremony. Along with this, 66 players who won medals in the National Games were given prize money of Rs. 02 crore 58 lakh 50 thousand in total.
Addressing the investiture ceremony, the Governor said that when a person becomes a sportsperson, his physical, mental and intellectual abilities increase. He is disciplined. It is necessary to be disciplined in life. Winning and losing is part of the game. The player should not be disheartened by the defeat. One should try to win and there should not be arrogance on winning. Should have a sense of helping others with courtesy and prudence.
Congratulating and best wishes to the honored players at the investiture ceremony, the Chief Minister said that the results of the success of the ‘Khelo India’ program are in front of everyone. The state government did the work of honoring all the players of the country who won medals in the Tokyo Olympics and the medal winners and participants of the state by organizing a ceremony to honor them. Uttar Pradesh is the first state in the country to do such work. Apart from this, the state government has also honored the country’s medal winning players in Paralympic games and the players from the state participating in this game.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has taken several programs forward in the field of sports. Works like reserving land for playgrounds in villages, construction of playgrounds, construction of open gyms and construction of mini-stadiums at block level and stadiums at district level are going on on a war footing. Sport kits are being made available in all gram panchayats through Yuvak Mangal Dal and Mahila Mangal Dal. The state government has recently issued appointment letters to two sportspersons, taking forward the process of recruitment to the gazetted posts of sportspersons of the state who have won medals in international competitions. The state government will soon issue appointment letters for the remaining players as well and will connect them with government jobs.
