Lucknow: The man behind the acquittal of BJP patriarch L.K Advani and 31 others who were accused of the criminal conspiracy to bring down the Babri Masjid, Retired District Judge, Surendra Kumar Yadav has now taken the oath as Uttar Pradesh’s deputy Lokayukta.
He was administered the oath of office by Lokayukta Justice (retired) Sanjay Mishra. Present to grace the oath taking ceremony were Additional chief secretary (home) Awanish Kumar Awasthi, deputy Lokayukta Dinesh Kumar Singh, and secretary (Lokayukta’s office) AK Singh.
Yadav formally retired from his position as district judge (Lucknow) on September 30, 2019. He played the role of a special judge in the Babri case on a Supreme Court order.
