Revision of electoral rolls to gradually pick speed
Lucknow: In accordance with the instructions of the Election Commission of India, Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa has instructed the subordinate officers of his office to closely supervise the ongoing special summary revision of electoral rolls of assembly constituencies.
Under this, divisions were allotted to the Additional Chief Electoral Officers posted in the CEO office. In this, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Chandrashekhar was given 19 districts of Meerut, Ayodhya, Devipatan and Chitrakoot division, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Kumar Vineet was given 19 districts of Kanpur, Moradabad, Agra and Varanasi division, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Nidhi Srivastava was given Lucknow, 18 districts of Aligarh, Bareilly and Gorakhpur division and Additional Chief Electoral Officer Ratnesh Singh will also visit 19 districts of Saharanpur, Jhansi, Azamgarh, Mirzapur, Basti and Prayagraj division for supervision.
The officers and subordinate officers nominated for supervision work also participated in the special campaign days organized on public holidays falling during the current special short review period, on 04 and 05 November, 25 and 26 November and 02 and 03 December, 2023 from their division. Polling places will be inspected in the respective districts.
In the same sequence, on November 04, 2023, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Chandrashekhar of Barabanki district and Additional Chief Electoral Officer Nidhi Srivastava inspected various polling places in Lucknow and Rae Bareli districts and gave directions. Similarly, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Vinay Pathak, District Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Siddharth Nagar, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Amit Singh, District Mainpuri, Special Officer, Sanjay Kumar Singh, District Sitapur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer, Arvind Kumar Pandey. After inspecting the polling places of Auraiya Etawah district, he also gave necessary guidelines.
