Riding the Digi – way: Nawabi City to soon turn Wi – fi city

Lucknow: Lucknow is fast gearing up to turn into a fully wi – fi city. However, if someone uses the facility, he or she will have to shell out money for the use of the wi – fi network that is planned to be fully functional soon.

The decision of going fully wi-fi has been taken at a high powered meeting of the Smart City Board meeting. Not just the wi-fi network across Lucknow, a change has also been brought into force with regards to Health ATMs.

To boost the health capacities in the city telemedicine scheme will be put in place in collaboration with SGPGI and other major hospitals. A proposal for this has already been passed.

CEO of Smart City and Municipal Commissioner Ajay Dwivedi has said that to facilitate Wi-Fi facilities in the entire city, a Detailed Project Report will soon be moved and consequent action will be taken.

There is also an approval to build charging stations for electric buses at five places in the city.  Among the top dignitaries present at the high-powered meeting were Additional Director General of Police, Women Power Line Neera Rawat, Additional Municipal Commissioner Amit Kumar and Divisional Commissioner Ranjan Kumar.

Health ATMs will fully cover areas like  BP, sugar testing, online consultation with leading doctors. Adding to these facilities will be recreation activities like reading.
