Security of every person is guaranteed in UP today without discrimination in UP: CM Yogi
Gorakhpur / Maharajganj / Deoria / Kushinagar / Varanasi : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held five public meetings (Gorakhpur/Maharajganj/Deoria/Kushinagar and Varanasi) on Saturday in view of the municipal elections, sending a clear message to the people about the importance of this election from the point of view of development of Uttar Pradesh. In every public meeting, he sought votes on the basis of the works done by the BJP government and also attacked the opposition. Appealing to people to do cast their votes in favour of BJP candidates on May 4, CM Yogi said that triple engine government was needed in Uttar Pradesh for accelerating pace of development in the state. “There used to be deaths due to disease and starvation in Kushinagar, but today this district is shining with a new aura”, the CM remarked. CM also promised to restore the glory of Deoria as the sugar bowl of the state by setting up a sugar complex. He also said that he visits Varanasi quite often because it gives him a sense of pride.
Addressing a rally in Gorakhpur, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh and Gorakhpur are on the path of rapid development. “Earlier, goonda tax and extortion were collected here. Goons, mafia, ruling party people used to encroach upon the properties of the poor, businessmen’s establishments, whereas today UP has become free from this anarchy, he said.
He added that many reforms have been done in the field of trade and industry and the global market is completely open for India. All these have had a positive impact on per capita income and standard of living of people, he remarked.
CM Yogi said that smart and safe city programmes are being run in the state and the Central Government has selected 10 cities of Uttar Pradesh under the Smart City Mission, while 7 others including Gorakhpur were selected by the State Government under the State Mission. Forty electric buses are being operated in Gorakhpur and the city will move towards having a Metro rail also later on while ropeway facilities will also be provided wherever needed, CM Yogi informed.
On a jocular note, the CM Yogi told traders not to commit the mistake of going to Nepal on May 4. He said that earlier streets of used to get water-logged in just an hour of rain whereas there was no water-logging despite continuous rain for 48 hours last time. HE added that work has started on the Godhoiya Nala project.
In Maharajganj, CM Yogi Adityanath said that earlier the mafia used to roam around freely with their heads held high and traders lived in fear but today the tables have turned in Uttar Pradesh. Criminals hang their heads in shame today, with a placard hanging around their necks and they begging for their lives. “We want to make our municipal bodies and gram panchayats such that most of their work is done online and you do not have to wander here and there for caste and other certificates”, he remarked.
Addressing a public meeting in Kushinagar, CM Yogi said that Kushinagar is undergoing a facelift today. “Until six years ago, there used to be encephalitis and starvation deaths of the poor and destitute in Kushinagar. On the one hand there was disease and on the other there was hunger. Nine years ago, when the public blessed PM Modi, he changed the picture of the country. The people of Kushinagar who were stranded in Sudan were brought here safely.”
The CM said that in the last six years, UP has become the vehicle of change and has worked to implement the PM’s vision as its mission. The CM said that Kushinagar has an international airport and efforts are being made to start air service from Kushinagar to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Singapore, Bangkok very soon. “The airport has been connected to fourlane road. Medical College has been established in Kushinagar. Agricultural University is being given in the name of Mahatma Buddha. Now Mushars do not die of hunger”, Yogi added further.
Addressing yet another rally in Deoria, CM Yogi Adityanath said that the failed engine of SP-BSP used to spread pollution of corruption and crime. They looted money meant for development of the state and welfare of its people and were responsible for criminalization of politics. But today the benefits of development and schemes are reaching every poor without discrimination. The Medical College in the name of Devraha Baba has been completed and has also been made operational. “We have written a letter to the Supreme Court seeking permission for setting up sugar complex at Baitalpur Sugar Mill campus. This will increase the income of the farmers and youth here manifold”, he asserted.
In Varanasi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the BJP candidates’ victory was beyond doubt in the civic elections. “The cooperation of the people of Kashi has always been received in every election whether it was Lok Sabha, or assembly elections. But this time our aim is to make a full majority board. With the power of triple engine of full majority along with double engine, now Kashi has to go ahead of being a smart city and become a world class city.
CM Yogi said that no mafia can dare to kidnap any Nand Kishore Rungta today. The Chief Minister said that he keeps on visiting Kashi on one pretext or the other as it gives him a sense of pride. “Kashi attracts Sanatanis from all over the world as the spiritual and cultural centre of India. Recently, the G-20 conference of 20 big countries was held in Kashi. So far 21,000 cancer patients have been treated in the Cancer Institute here. I myself have provided Rs 72 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for cancer patients”, he said.
