Self-help groups contributing in agricultural livelihood promotion

Lucknow: Under the able guidance of Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh,  Keshav Prasad Maurya, 9950 Krishi Ajeevika Sakhi have been posted in 522 development blocks of 75 districts of the state under Agriculture Livelihood and through them 8 lakh women farmer families are getting work on agricultural livelihood promotion activity. Organizing Agriculture and Animal School at the village level has been adopted on sustainable livelihood.

According to the information received from the State Rural Livelihood Mission, activities such as Prerna Nutrition Vatika, cow-based farming (pest management, organic manure, Neemastra, cow dung, Bhu-Nadep) etc. are being done to these women farmer families. Along with this, livelihood activities like animal husbandry, poultry, goat rearing etc. are being done.

Under this project 4319 producer groups have been formed for collection, harvesting, sorting, cleaning and grading of available agro-based produce at district level, out of which business plans and bank accounts of 2888 producer groups have been opened.
