Lucknow: Born to a hardworking Punjabi family, Amit Sharma at a very early age made his life resolve to serve mankind to his full potential. His father was his biggest inspiration who started humble and rose to occupy the position of Manager Operations at Nerolac Paints in Kanpur’s Jainpur at a factory.
Amit worked in a dedicated manner to rise the ladder and serve big organizations like Ushafone and Reliance Communication Limited and then Bharati Airtel where he served as Warehouse Incharge.
His association with Airtel was an 18 year long one, where he worked with honesty. Starting 2015, Amit setup his humble setup under the name ‘Saidham- Mandir’ this charitable organization was later on converted into a Trust so that more Needful people could be benefitted.
“Saidham Mandir Foundation Trust” is now working tirelessly to help the down trodden. It is run by Amit and his loving daughter Payal. Apart from his social causes, he is a also working closely to push forth the people centric policies of the government in his own unique way. His foundation is working in a dedicated fashion to provide quality services. He says he is highly inspired by the teachings of Sai Baba and he wants to play the role of a unifier like Sainath Maharaj.
In his message, Amit Sharma said, “ One should avoid getting caught in materialism. One should not run after riches and wealth, but try and give back to people. Make lives of the lesser fortunate better. The government in my view should play an important role in promoting organizations like us that are working for social empowerment. All in all people should be benefitted.
Amit Sharma’s Sai Dham Mandir Foundation Trust in Gomtinagar works tirelessly for the betterment of the society. Next to Hyatt Hotel in front of DLF My Pad in Vibhuti Khand of Gomti Nagar, it is contributing its bit towards the society for the last seven years.
His ‘Sai-Rasoi’ never charges a penny to the people who come to eat here. People can give whatever they want, because the proceeds are used for social causes. The causes dear to the organization are education to the kids living in slums, training them in fields like boxing, martial arts, sumptuous Bhandaras and much more.
Amit’s message to the society that makes him unique amongst the others, donate with your own hands to the Needful and never consider any external Agency or NGO for the job till it’s very necessary.
His humble setup has been graced by the high and mighty which includes big names like Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, ex Divisional Commissioner Ranjan Kumar, ex Police Commissioner D.K.Thakur, senior cop Rajesh Srivastava, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya & Brijesh Pathak, MLA of Malihabad constituency Jai Devi, Kaushal Kishore Minister in Indian Government of Urban & Town Welfare to name a few. Not only has Amit won accolades for his good work, his daughter, Payal too has received the Nari Shakti Award. She teaches kids of labourers, rag-pickers and other lesser fortunate.
Amit Sharma was among the few good Samaritans who played a lead role in helping people as COVID – 19 wreaked havoc in Lucknow. They selflessly distributed medical kits during emergencies and steered de-addiction programmes.
