Several districts of U.P. continue to work towards TB eradication on a war footing

Lucknow: Sub-national certification is an important process towards achieving the goal of making the country Tuberculosis (TB) free by the year 2025. In this sequence, under the National Tuberculosis Eradication Program, this process has been started in 20 districts of the state from Monday. The ongoing efforts regarding TB in these districts and their results are being closely scrutinized. Districts which meet the indicators of caries eradication will be ranked in gold, silver and bronze categories. Last year, this survey was conducted in 10 districts of the state, out of which one was ranked in gold, one in silver and six in bronze category.

State Tuberculosis Control Program Officer Dr. Shailendra Bhatnagar says that under this survey, 10-10 villages of these 20 districts have been identified through the Central TB Division. The survey campaign is being conducted in these villages with the help of volunteers of District Level Annual Survey (DLAS) under the supervision of Central TB Division. During this, the team is closely monitoring the facility of TB testing, notification of patients (government/private), HIV testing of TB patients, payment status under Nikshay Poshan Yojana, private drug cell and the rate of reduction in the number of patients. Is.

The volunteers assisting the team have been trained at the district level. In this district-level annual survey, sputum of potential patients is being tested on the net on the same day. The villages where not even a single TB patient has been found in the survey in the previous years will be included in the TB-free villages. The survey report will be verified by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in collaboration with the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM) and WHO India. Successful districts will be honored during the program to be organized on World Tuberculosis Day- 24 March 2023.

Baghpat, Barabanki, Balrampur, Bulandshahr, Chandauli, Hapur, Jalaun, J.P. Nagar, Kaushambi, Lalitpur, Maharajganj, Muzaffarnagar, Mirzapur, Pilibhit, Pratapgarh, Sant Ravidasnagar, Sambhal, Shamli, Sonbhadra and Unnao.
