Mumbai: As shoots and revivals start in the entertainment sector post pandemic, actor Sarah Jessica Parker of the Sex and the City franchise has revealed that the pandemic will be very much part of the storyline.
The revival of the show comes for a short version on HBO Max. The show ran on HBO from 1998 through 2004 featuring Parker as Carrie Bradshaw. Among the others who featured in the show were Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes and Kristin Davis as Charlotte York.
The revival is being titled as And Just Like That which was announced earlier this month with lead stars making a comeback.
From the reality of the 30s to the newage competition in the 50s is what the show will capture. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Jessica Parker said she is hopeful that the writers of the show will touch upon COVID-19 and its effects.
The 10-episode limited series is based on the book, Sex and the City, by Candice Bushnell and original TV series created by Darren Star. Sex and the City ran for six seasons and 94 episodes between 1998 and 2004 followed by two feature films in 2008 and 2010.
