SGPGI to now search and treat TB patients

Lucknow: Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences will now search for TB patients. So that the Prime Minister’s dream of making the country TB free by 2025 can be fulfilled. PGI’s media in-charge Kusum Yadav said that on the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day, an awareness campaign is being launched by the Departments of Microbiology and Pulmonary Medicine.

Outline of the entire program Director of the Institute Prof. RK Dhiman, Professor Alok Nath, Head, Department of Pulmonary Medicine and Dr Richa Lal, Additional Professor, Department of Microbiology. The campaign will be launched on March 14 in some villages around Sanjay Gandhi PGI, namely, Sabha Kheda, Babu Kheda, Amol, Raidas Kheda, Gajrian Kheda and Kalli West. Active Tuberculosis Search and Village Adoption Campaign will be started.

Under this campaign, health workers will visit every house in the selected area to search for suspected TB patients. Rs 500 per month will be paid to all identified and treated tuberculosis patients under Nidan Poshan Yojana. To avail this facility, every TB patient will ensure avail.
