Muzaffarpur: Muzaffarpur’s international cricketer Shahbaz Nadeem completed 500 wickets in first class matches. Nadeem took his wicket tally to 501 by taking two wickets in the match against Chhattisgarh being played in Jamshedpur. He became the second player from East Zone to take 500 wickets. Earlier, Bengal cricket team player Utpal Chatterjee has taken 503 wickets in 129 matches. Nadeem is originally from Chandwara in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. Nadeem currently plays from Jharkhand.
Nadeem, who has been performing consistently well in domestic matches, has once again attracted the attention of the selectors of Team India. Playing against Chhattisgarh at the Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur, Nadeem took two wickets to join the club of 500 wickets. Shahbaz Nadeem holds the record of taking 500 wickets in 129 matches. Left arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem, a native of Chandwara, Muzaffarpur, has made a record by taking 500 wickets in first-class cricket, which is still not in the name of any bowler in the East Zone. Nadeem joined the 500 club by taking two wickets against Chhattisgarh in the Ranji Trophy at the Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur. His parents are happy at this achievement, but regret that the wait to see their son make his ODI debut is getting longer.
Nadeem will be a part of the ODI team – father
Nadeem has played Test matches for India. Nadeem took two wickets and also scored 45 runs in his debut Test match against South Africa in Ranchi in 2019. Since then, Nadeem’s mother Husn Ara and father retired DSP Javed Mehmood and uncle Junaid Alam are pinning high hopes on the selectors of Team India. Mother Husn Ara says, I keep praying to God for Shahbaz. Father says that one day Shahbaz will definitely become a part of the ODI team.
