Shikha Narwal takes inspiration from her Paralympian brother

Delhi: Shikha Narwal, who stepped into the world of sports after watching her Paralympic gold medalist brother Manish Narwal bring home a medal, wants to win an Olympic medal in the future.

These days Shikha is not only participating in “Khelo India University Games, Uttar Pradesh 2022” going on at Karni Singh Shooting Range but has also won silver medal in 10 meter air pistol. She is here representing Maharshi Dayanand University.

Because of brother being a Paralympic medalist, there is an invisible pressure on Shikha too, to play better. This pressure is not from the family members because brother knows what kind of game it is and how much hard work it takes. Still, they feel that there is always pressure in any competition.

On the other hand, she is participating in the Khelo India University Games. Won bronze medal for the first time and this time won silver medal in team category. She believes that this time the competition has become more “tough” than last time. So now the players need to work a lot harder than before. She said that if there is so much pressure at the university level, then how much pressure would be on the players in the national and international level. Due to some new rules, the game has become more tough.

She now realizes how much pressure it must have been playing against his Paralympic medalist brother. Still she is hopeful and like her brother she too will win a medal in Olympic Games in future.
