Shoaib Akhtar convinced Pakistan has lost it

Islamabad: Pakistan has suffered its second consecutive defeat in the ICC World Cup 2023. Australia defeated Pakistan by 62 runs at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. Australia scored 367/9 after losing the toss. In reply, Pakistan team was bundled out for 305 runs in 45.3 overs. Abdullah Shafiq (68), Imam-ul-Haq (70) and Mohammad Rizwan (46) batted but captain Babar Azam (18) could not do anything special. After the Babar Brigade lost to Australia, former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has made a big prediction. Akhtar believes that Pakistan’s chances of reaching the semi-finals are slim.

Akhtar said on his YouTube channel, “This is a disappointing defeat. What can be said? What can be done? Can’t anything be said? But I will still support Pakistan team. Whatever you say, this is a disappointing performance. Why did you decide to bowl first after winning the toss? I want to ask what was the reason that took this decision? You would have batted first. Would have scored a score of 320 or 330 and given a chance to Pakistani bowlers to defend. But you didn’t do that. Babar Azam is a great player. Big players need to prove themselves in big matches.

Akhtar said, “What is the Pakistan team management thinking? What will they discuss? Pakistan’s chances of going to the semi-finals seem very less. Right now there is a match against New Zealand and South Africa. But do you really believe that this Pakistan team deserves to reach the semi-finals? I am asking you questions. That fire inside the team is not visible in the heart and kidneys. Let us tell you that the Pakistan team has won two and lost two out of four matches. Apart from Australia, Pakistan was defeated by India. India defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in Ahmedabad. Pakistan has to play its next match against Afghanistan on 23 October. After this, Pakistan will face South Africa on October 27, Bangladesh on October 31 and New Zealand on November 4.
