Lucknow: Yogi Adityanath has been making efforts to ensure a security of life and livelihood during the Corona period. Uttar Pradesh is the first state in the country, which implemented partial corona curfew in the state. However, complete lockdown was imposed in other states. Despite this, from May 11 to June 6, about six times the workers got employment in MNREGA in the state.
During the Corona period, an average of 50 to 60 thousand people have got employment in MNREGA every day. CM Yogi had given instructions for skill mapping of migrants arriving from other states as soon as the lockdown started. Along with this, he had also given instructions to increase the man-days to provide employment to the workers under MNREGA.
As a result of this despite the implementation of partial curfew, the number of workers has increased continuously from May 10 to June 6. On May 10, the number of workers in 17,980 gram panchayats was 2,49,428, which increased to 13,45,151 in 53,099 gram panchayats on June 5. After this, on June 6, the number of workers in 52,818 gram panchayats has increased to 14,08,615.
During the course of this time, more than two crore man-days have been created, against which 11 lakh 60 thousand workers have been paid Rs 448 crore.
Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Development Department Manoj Kumar Singh said that on the instructions of the Chief Minister, efforts are being made to create more man days, activities under MGNREGA will be increased in villages which are corona free.
The maximum employment of workers in MNREGA is 60,435 in Kheri, 55,130 in Kushinagar, 53,674 in Bahraich, Maharajganj 48,770, Sitapur 47,704, Hardoi 36,046, Siddharthnagar 35,635, Prayagraj 34,206, Basti 32,192 and Rae Bareli 31,599. .
