Social media policy introduced for Police personnel in state of Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Police has issued a social media policy  for policemen in UP. Policemen are banned from making video reels. Policemen should not use social media in official work. There is a ban on personal use of social media by police personnel and they should not troll on anyone’s comments, even after making videos of their own applause. They cannot even live broadcast the complaints, no policeman can join any controversial group, only professional DP can use video reel Songs etc.

They can use social media only in government interest.  They can’t even comment on senior officer or colleague. Can be careful while following back on social media.  Police personnel cannot even display weapons. Can’t forward any information without verification. UP DGP issues new social media policy. The approval for the policy was issued after DGP DS Chauhan set guidelines for the policy.
