Sonebhadra development works reviewed in high priority meeting

In-depth review of the development works being carried out in Area Panchayat/District Panchayat and Gram Panchayat by the Panchayati Raj Committee of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly in Sonebhadra.

Sonebhadra: Chairman and members of the Second Sub-Committee of the Panchayati Raj Committee of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly held a meeting with the District Magistrate, Chief Development Officer and other concerned officials in the Collectorate Auditorium  and informed the villagers of Panchayati Raj Department and Rural Development Department by the Central and State Government. The progress of various activities under the development schemes being run by the areas and councils and the centrally sponsored rural sanitation program was reviewed.

Apart from the Chairman,  Vipin Kumar David, the members including  Amit Singh Chauhan, MLA Dr. Mukesh Chandra Verma, MLA  Mukesh Chaudhary, MLA  Ram Achal Rajbhar, MLA, MLA  Piyush Ranjan Nishad were present as members of the committee. Apart from this, other public representatives should be present along with the committee, apart from this, District Magistrate  Chandra Vijay Singh, Chief Development Officer  Saurabh Gangwar and all the officers related to Panchayati Raj Department were present.

In the meeting, the Chairman and members discussed about IEC activities, individual toilet construction, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, National Rural Livelihood Mission, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, National Drinking Water Scheme, Ambedkar Special Employment Scheme, Community Development Programme, Pradhan Mantri Adarsh ​​Gram Yojana, Total Sanitation Campaign/Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan Yojana, Backward Area Grant Fund Scheme, Scheme for construction of multi-purpose Panchayat buildings/Bharat Nirman Seva Kendras, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Samagra Gram Vikas Yojana, Panchayat Empowerment Campaign, Swachh Bharat Mission,

A detailed review of the  annual report and various schemes related to Panchayati Raj was done.

During the review of the works of various schemes of Sonebhadra district, the Chairman directed that there is immense potential for tourism in the district, to expand which an action plan should be made and publicized on a wide scale, so that tourism in the district can be promoted.

More and more people should come to see and the local people should get employment opportunities through tourists.
During this period, he organized a Lavya Coaching Center and Sam-Mam in the district to help the families of children in dragon fruit cultivation, along with getting relief from malnutrition, distribution of water removal kits in fluorite affected areas, and increasing the intellectual level of children in Anganwadi centres.

They appreciated the work being done under the leadership of the District Magistrate in providing sports material. During the review of the Panchayati Raj Department, he said that more and more individual toilets should be made available in Scheduled Tribe dominated areas by identifying their families and creating awareness regarding their use. Instructions were given by the Chairman of the Committee to take action against those contractors who have not started the work yet.

He said that the women should be linked to the NRLM group to include them in the main stream of the society. Regarding social audit in Gram Panchayats/Area Panchayats, he said that audit should be conducted from time to time and whenever the auditors reach the village or Area Panchayat/Gram Panchayat for audit, all the documents should be made available by providing their cooperation. Under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, it was directed that complaints are being received about community toilets being locked at some places in the village. It should be ensured that all the toilets remain open on time and staff are present in them.

It was told by the Chief Development Officer that the target of construction of community toilets in all the Gram Panchayats has been achieved and to ensure that the toilets remain operational, random checking of all the toilets is also done simultaneously. Instructions were also given to maintain asset register in all the villages, special attention should be paid to the quality of construction works being done through MNREGA and 14th/15th Finance and State Finance.

The special quality of interlocking bricks used in Gram Panchayats should be seriously checked. If quality bricks are not available then the work should be done through CC road. He said that the present government will not compromise on the quality of any work or corruption at any level. If any irregularities are found after investigation, then strictest action will be taken against the culprit. The development works being carried out by the District Panchayat were also reviewed and it was directed that proposals should be obtained from each Gram Panchayat member and all the works should be carried out on priority basis. In the meeting, the status of Smart Village, Amrit Sarovar, Jal Jeevan Mission, Pradhan Mantri Awas Gramin, cow shelters etc. were reviewed.

He said that village development is necessary to make smart Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, work should be done towards making the villages clean and beautiful. District Magistrate Shri Chandra Vijay Singh, while giving detailed information about the construction of cluster houses and leases being given to their beneficiaries, works done under the schemes like Prime Minister’s House etc., assured the Chairman and all the members of the committee and said that the committee meetings will It will be ensured that the instructions given are followed in letter and spirit.

Subsequently, the chairman and members of the committee reached Gram Panchayat Lodhi of Robertsganj development block and inspected the Panchayat building, primary school Lodhi, upper primary school, during which he said that along with maintaining cleanliness in the Panchayat building, the problems of the villagers were solved. Timely disposal should be done and by giving them information about the schemes run by the Central and State Government, they should be made aware about education, health and cleanliness.

He said that the level of education in schools should be further improved and teaching should be done in a better way. On this occasion, the development works done under various schemes were also inspected. On this occasion, Chief Development Officer Mr. Saurabh Gangwar, District Development Officer  Sheshnath Chauhan, DC MNREGA, Ramesh Kumar Yadav, Project Director , R.S. Maurya, District Panchayat Raj Officer  Vishal Singh and all other concerned officers and block development officers were present.
