Lucknow: Samajwadi Party National President and former U.P. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has condoled the demise of former MP of Samajwadi Party, Mukhtar Anees (78 years) at his residence in Gomtinagar, Lucknow.
Paying his condolences, Akhilesh Yadav prayed for the peace of the departed and paid rich tributes. Present at the somber occasion was Samajwadi Party National Secretary Rajendra Chaudhary as well.
Fondly recalling the work that the late SP veteran did for the party, he said that contribution of Mukhtar Anees was highly significant for the socialist movement. He not only pacified the family members, he also said that during the Emergency, Anees went to jail in the fight for democracy. His political journey began with the United Socialist Party. He devoted his life to safeguard socialist values and holding the cabinet rank, he took important decisions in public interest, which benefited the public. Yadav said his death is an irreparable loss to the Samajwadi Party.
Also present during the condolence meet were the two sons of Mukhtar Anees, Zaheer Abbas and Yusa Rizvi, wife and brother.
