State Women Commission takes need for securing women seriously

Lucknow: With the objective of preventing the incidents of harassment of women in the state the State Women’s Commission is providing speedy justice to women victims, A women’s public hearing was held at the Commission Headquarters Lucknow by the Chairman Vimala Batham.

During the hearing, 13 cases were disposed off, in the remaining cases, instructions were given to the concerned to take prompt action and provide progress reports. Instructions were also given to take prompt action on the new applications given by the 15 victims/applicants who came from different districts at the Commission Headquarters as well as on the new applications received in the Commission Office through various means.

Apart from  this  instructions were given by  President Vimala Batham, in 21 districts of the state namely Bijnor, Varanasi, Sonbhadra, Basti, Shahjahopur, Deoria, Meerut, Baghpat, Jalaun, Mahoba, Kanpur Dehat, Chandauli, Fatehpur, Kannauj, Unnao, Jaunpur, Sultanpur, Kushinagar, Pilibhit , Mau and Hardoi. Vice President  Sushma Singh and Anju Choudhary.  People were made aware by giving information about various welfare schemes being run by the government for women and the problems of the victims were resolved along with the police officers present on the spot.
