Stellar plays lineup to enthrall Lucknowites as Darpan Theatre Group celebrates Diamond Jubilee Year
Lucknow: Theatre Festival is coming to Lucknow and we’re thrilled. A treat for all theatre enthusiasts, the National Theatre Festival will be on for a duration of 10 days and bring for Lucknowites 10 plays featuring famed artists from the country. The first 9 plays will be showcased at UP’s Sangeet Natak Academy in Lucknow, and the last play will be on at Bhartendu Natya Academy.
On May 18, the initial play will begin at 6:30 pm while the other kicks off from 7:00 pm. Entry is free for all!
It is worth mentioning that Darpan Theater Group is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee year. Famed actors like Anup Soni, Juhi Babbar and Anil Rastogi are to join the cast of these plays. Darpan theatre group was initiated by Prof. Satya Murty in 1961.
May 18- Play ‘ Swaha ’ directed by Shubhadeep Raha for Darpan
May 19- Play ‘ Prem Ramayana ’ directed by Atul Satya Kaushik for Films and Television Society, Mumbai,
May 20- Play ‘ Baliganj ’ directed by Atul Satya Kaushik for flicks and Television Society, Mumbai,
May 21- Play ‘ With love aapki Sayara ’ directed by Juhi Babbar for Ekjute, Mumbai
May 22- Play ‘ Ghalib in New Delhi ’, directed by Sayed Alam for Pierrot’s troupe, Delhi
May 23- Play ‘ Mahabali ’ by Darpan, Gorakhpur
‘ Andhayug ’, ‘ Bayan ’, ‘ Laila Majnu ’ and ‘ Mai re Mai Ka se kahu ’ will be offered by National School of Drama from May 24 onwards.
