Steps being taken to check waterlogging

Lucknow: In view of heavy rains, the Municipal Corporation resolved the problems on a large scale. The Divisional Commissioner and Municipal Commissioner along with the Mayor took stock of the situation. The situation of waterlogging that has arisen at many places in the city due to incessant rains is being continuously reviewed.

Water drainage is being done through pumps etc. at such points where waterlogging persists. Mayor Sushma Kharkwal is inspecting the flood pumping station operated by the Municipal Corporation and various water logged areas in the city constantly. Instructions have been given to keep the flood pumping stations functional. The work of draining is being done through 112 pumps. Apart from this, the work of speedy removal of fallen trees has also been done zone-wise wherever trees have fallen due to heavy rains in the city. Pumps and super sucker machines are being used in the entire city to solve the problems arising out of rain. Mayor and Divisional Commissioner Dr. Roshan Jacob, Municipal Commissioner and Additional Municipal Commissioner are working jointly on a war footing.
