Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken the decision to brand strawberry of Bundelkhand in a big way. He has now made his plan clear that that he will give strawberry cultivation a new identity. The government is looking to provide employment to people through this farming and prevent migration from drought prone Bundelkhand. Yogi shed light on this plan while inaugurating the strawberry festival from his residence.
The CM said that the way the Strawberry Festival is being organized to promote strawberry cultivation, on similar lines festivals should also be organized in Siddharthanagar to promote black salt and products of Chandauli, Barabanki, Kaushambi and Prayagraj.
CM Yogi also extended his best wishes to the organizers of this festival which will go on for a month. The launch of the festival happened in the presence of Jhansi MPs, MLAs and ministers and officials of the state government.
The Chief Minister said production of strawberries in Jhansi is nothing short of a miracle. This festival will play an important role in changing the perception of the state and the country about Bundelkhand. He said that growing strawberries in Jhansi is the result of the hard work of Bundelkhand farmers.
He said the production of strawberries in Bundelkhand was started from the roof of the house. After this it was planted in the fields. The Chief Minister said the citizens of Bundelkhand have a strong will to work. The fertile land here has the ability to create gold, but until some time ago this talent could not find a proper platform, because of which people here had to flee.
The Chief Minister also said that the Strawberry Festival will become the focal point of new inspiration for the farmers of the entire Bundelkhand. We can develop irrigation capacity three times more than today’s capacity by linking farming with drip irrigation system.
