Strict action to follow to counter the stubble burning menace

Lucknow: Yogi Government is conscious about the pollution caused by burning stubble in winter. Preparations have been made by the government to stop this. A large-scale campaign is being run to stop the incidents of stubble burning in any case. Under this, along with the awareness campaign, the government has distributed free biodecomposer among the farmers, while agricultural equipment with residue management is being distributed for crop residue management.

Target to distribute 17 lakh biodecomposers

In the presentation of the Agriculture Department regarding stubble management before the Chief Secretary, it was told that 50 percent subsidy is being provided on single agricultural equipment. So far 44,363 single agricultural implements have been distributed. Approval has been given for 4439 single agricultural equipment in 2023-24. A total of 7621 forms have been distributed so far under the head of FPO, Cooperative Society and Gram Panchayat.

296 have been approved in 2023-24. Last year, 1322250 biodecomposers were distributed, while a target has been set to distribute 17 lakh biodecomposers in 2023-24. So far 166600 biodecomposers are in the supply process in 2023-24.

Cooperation is being taken from these departments

Apart from this, effective action will be ensured at the district level by coordinating among the officials of departments like sugarcane, basic education, revenue, rural development, Panchayati Raj, local body, police and transport, agriculture.

Supply of stubble is being ensured by publicizing the crop residue based units established in the district or in the neighboring districts. Village, Nyaya Panchayat, development block, tehsil and district level task forces are being formed.
