Suhas LY proves his mettle at Thailand Para Badminton tournament with a Gold

Bangkok: IAS officer Suhas LY won the gold medal in the SL4 event by defeating compatriot Sukant 21-14, 17-21, 21-11 in a three-game final.

Tokyo Paralympics winner Pramod Bhagat  won two gold medals in Thailand Para Badminton tournament. Pramod defeated England’s Daniel Bethel to win gold in the men’s singles SL3 event. Apart from this, he won the yellow medal in men’s doubles SL3-SL4 event with Sukant Kadam.

In the SL3 singles final, Pramod won the first game 21-18, but then Daniel retired due to injury and the Indian won the final match. In the doubles final, Pramod and Sukant defeated the pair of Nitesh Kumar and Tarun in a hard-fought match 18-21, 21-14, 21-19. Whereas, in women’s singles, Nithya Sivan and Thulasimathi Murugasen won silver medals in SH6 and SU5 events.
