SuperGiants beat Kings hollow, reach third spot

Mumbai: Lucknow Super Giants beat Punjab Kings by 20 runs on Friday. On being invited to bat first, Lucknow scored 153 runs for eight wickets. In reply, Punjab’s team could manage only 133 for eight. ,

Lucknow lost five wickets in 13 runs in the middle overs, leading to the second wicket between Quinton de Kock (46 off 37 balls, four fours, two sixes) and Deepak Hooda (34 off 28 balls, one four, two sixes). Thing were shattered by a partnership of 85 runs. But with useful contributions from the lower order batsmen, the team was able to score 153 for eight in the end.

The bowlers of Lucknow, however, made this score like a mountain for Punjab. He lost wickets at regular intervals and in the end his team could only reach 133 runs for eight wickets. Jonny Bairstow scored the highest 32 runs from his side.

The fast bowlers were getting extra bounce from the pitch. Lucknow bowlers also took advantage of this. From his side, fast bowler Mohsin Khan took three wickets for 24 runs and Dushmant Chamira took two wickets for 17 runs. Left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya took two wickets for 11 runs in his four overs.
