Lucknow: In view of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, the Samajwadi Party announced the names of three more candidates. In this list, Swami Prasad Maurya, who recently left BJP and joined SP, has got ticket from Fazilnagar seat in Kushinagar.
While the party has fielded Pallavi Patel against the state’s deputy CM Keshav Maurya. Pallavi is the younger daughter of Apna Dal President Krishna Patel and younger sister of Minister Anupama at the Centre.
On the other hand, former cabinet minister Abhishek Mishra has been given ticket by the SP from Sarojini Nagar.
Political experts say that with the entry of Pallavi Patel, the contest in Sirathu assembly seat has become very interesting.
Pallavi’s sister Anupriya is in the BJP camp. At the same time, Pallavi Patel is walking step by step with the SP. Pallavi Patel will file her papers on February 5.
It has been the traditional seat of Keshav Prasad Maurya. He is considered one of the big OBC leaders of BJP.
After the departure of many other OBC leaders including Swami Prasad Maurya, Dharampal Saini, their importance has increased further. By taking him out in the election season, BJP is trying to woo OBC vote bank. In Sirathu, elections are to be held in the fifth phase.
