Tara Norris experiences the WPL high from close quarters

Mumbai: Delhi Capitals fast bowler Tara Norris said that she is very happy to play in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) after becoming the first bowler to take a five-wicket haul in the tournament.

On Sunday, Delhi got a good result picking up a supporter in the tournament and picking five overseas players in their eleven against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Brabourne Stadium.

Tara managed to put pressure on Bangalore from 89/2 to 96/7. She picked up 5/29 from her four overs, helping Bangalore make 163/8 in their 20 overs.

Delhi got its first win of the competition. Morris, who was awarded the Player of the Match after the match, said, I am happy. I think Lanning and Shefali got off to a great start with the bat to take some pressure off the bowlers.

But yes, I am really happy. I never thought I would get an opportunity like this in my career, so it has been absolutely amazing to play here.

Tara made Ellyse Perry, Disha Kasat, Richa Ghosh, Kanika Ahuja and Heather Knight her victims, leaving Bangalore’s innings in complete disarray.

“Perhaps the first one (Ellyse Perry’s wicket) was very special. Like I said, it’s been great playing here. So I got a chance to play and bowl. All-rounder Marijan Kapp did not take a single wicket today with his fast bowling. But she still had an impact in the match, providing the finishing touch with an unbeaten 39 off 17 balls as Delhi crossed the 200 mark.
