This year vaccination, red dress mandatory for Chhath Puja on Gomti banks
Lucknow: Apart from Diwali celebrations, Lucknow will also be witness to Chhath rituals on the banks of the river Gomti. The preparations for the same is in the last stages. The work of cleaning the ghats has been done. The road leading to the Gomti bank from the main road is being repaired. In the runup to the day of Chhath Puja, the Executive Engineer of the Irrigation Department along with other departmental officers reached the spot to review the preparations for bathing in the Gomti river and reviewed the preparations with Prabhu Nath Rai, President of All India Bhojpuri Samaj.
Vaccination has been made mandatory for those coming to attend the puja. Before reaching the place of worship, everyone will have to show the corona vaccination certificate. The dress code of the place of worship has been fixed. The office bearers of All India Bhojpuri Samaj will also have to follow this. Everyone will reach the ghat wearing red clothes. Vehicle parking will be arranged in Laxman Mela Park and on both the days of worship, there will be a single-way arrangement on this road.
A net will be erected near the ghat in the Gomti river so that any kind of accident does not happen with those who come for bath.
During Chhath Puja, on October 30 and 31, water police will also be deployed here.
Prabhu Nath Rai, president of Akhil Bhartiya Bhojpuri Samaj told reporters at the place of worship that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been invited as the chief guest in the Chhath Puja celebrations to be held on October 30 and 31. He told that Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, State BJP President Bhupendra Singh, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, Culture and Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh, Rajya Sabha member Ashok Vajpayee, Lucknow Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia and Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra have also been invited.
Prabhu Nath Rai said Chhath has now spread all over India after originating in places like Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. Chhath Puja has also started spreading its wings in foreign countries also. This will be the 39th event in Lucknow. Women keep the fast of Chhath Puja for the long life and good health of their husbands.
