Lucknow: The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh is making sure that the state he governs is well prepared to fight the problem of a third wave tooth and nail. Experts predict that this wave will affect the children the most. Due to this, CM Yogi in Uttar Pradesh has started preparing for it. In fact, the UP government has prepared a special medicine kit with syrup and tablets for children, it has been decided to distribute this kit free of cost in the state.
The U.P Health Minister has said that we will distribute a kit for children with medicines for a week, and the dosage will be given according to the age and weight of the children. Our 97,000 medical teams comprising ASHA workers are already conducting door-to-door tests and are giving medicine kits. Children who are showing influenza-like symptoms like cold and cough – their parents will be asked to give them medicines for a week.
The state government is preparing 30 lakh pamphlets, in which medical kits will be distributed for children. There will be three types of kits – for children below six years of age, 6-12 years and for children in the age group of 12 to 18 years. This message will also be on the children’s kit – ‘Every life is priceless in the battle of Corona.
Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad said that such kits for children will include syrups and tablets of lesser dosage than adults. “We are preparing medicine kits for children as it is widely feared that children may get infected in the third wave. These medicine kits are being prepared and sent to our godowns in the districts so that they can be distributed when needed. Right now the cases are less so we want to be future ready.”
A special campaign for vaccination will be started from June 14. Under this, the street vendors, fruit-vegetable vendors, auto rickshaws, rickshaw, bus drivers etc. will be vaccinated. Vaccination has started in these booths from June 7.
