Top cop Laxmi Singh cracks down on erring persons

Noida: Major action has been taken against corrupt policemen in Noida Police Commissionerate of Uttar Pradesh. On the orders of Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, Jhundpura outpost incharge Sanjay Punia (Sub Inspector Sanjay Punia) and 2 constables have been suspended. All these three policemen were accused of corruption, after which this action has been taken.

Policemen’s complaint was made through email

According to the information, a complaint was made against these policemen through email to the police commissioner. A video was also attached to this email. Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh’s PRO Pankaj Kumar said that information about illegal extortion of money was received by policemen on duty at PCR 34 in Jhundpura Chowki area of police station Phase 1 area.

It was investigated by ACP I Rajneesh Verma. He said that on the basis of the investigation report, a case was registered against constables Arvind Kumar and Amit Kumar, appointed at PCR 34, under Section 7/13 Prevention of Corruption Act. He said that both the constables have been suspended with immediate effect.

He said that in-charge of Jhundpura outpost, Sub-Inspector Sanjay Poonia has also been suspended for negligence in this whole matter. The FIR in the case has been lodged by Senior Sub Inspector Rajkumar Singh of Police Station Phase-1 on his behalf. He told that the video accompanying the complaint has been saved in a pendrive. At the same time, a departmental inquiry has also been ordered by the DCP in the matter.
