Lucknow: The economy of the state can be accelerated by focusing on various sectors like IT, tourism, MSME, agriculture, education, food processing in the state. In a meeting held with Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra and senior administrative officers regarding the goal of making the state’s economy one trillion dollars, former Chief Economic Adviser to the Central Government, Professor of Indian School of Business and Executive in International Monetary Fund (IMF). Director Krishnamurthy Subramaniam suggested this.
Giving a presentation on the economy, he said the share of the manufacturing sector is largely positive across all scenarios. The state is already a major center for leather, toys and textile exports in India. He said that the state can capture global defense exports mainly from Europe and USA. The digital economy in the country is on the way to progress. He said that the state should aim to become the data storage and processing hub of the world and in the new industrial policy, businesses related to data and digital start-ups and digital economy should be given priority.
