Lucknow: The exhibit stall of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation at the annual Fruit, Vegetable and Flower Exhibition at Governor House, was an instant hit among the people of Lucknow and it garnered immense appreciation on the inaugural day. Hon’ble Governor, Anandiben Patel and Hon’ble Chief Minister of UP Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the three day exhibition that commenced from 6th of February 2021, i.e. today till 8th of February 2021.
This year’s exhibit by UPMRC takes the visitors through Lucknow Metro’s operational journey and the construction progress of Kanpur and Agra metro projects.The main highlight of the event was creation of UPMRC logo with the help of exotic flowers like Gerbara.
The horticulture department of UPMRC did an exemplary work which comprised creating beautiful groups of annual seasonal flowers, Cineraria flower pot groups, and vibrant display of other beautiful flowers like Rose, Gladiolus and Dahlia. It was indeed a delight for the visitors to see the hardwork and efforts put in by the civil department in nurturing and assembling all the flower groups.
UP Metro also bagged numerous awards in several categories; namely first prize in category of rose, hibiscus & dahlia flower pot presentation followed by second prize in category of seasonal flowers artistic presentation & second prize in flower pots arrangement of cineraria.
The Hon’ble Governor Anandiben Patel praised the efforts of UPMRC team for putting up such a pleasing exhibit stall. Director Operations, UPMRC, Sushil Kumar briefed Hon’ble Governor about the achievements of UPMRC, specifically so in the Horticulture and Environment front which includes the initiatives undertaken by UP Metro in making it a green mode of transport, measures for water harvesting, cultivation of herbal and medicinal plants at the Transport Nagar Depot and how the organisation always prioritise environment protection.
The stall also had lucrative souvenir items for sale which included toy train models, keychains and some informative material related to the ongoing Kanpur and Agra Metro Projects. It was a proud moment for the people of Lucknow to know about the operational aspects of their very own Lucknow Metro.
The main attraction for the visitors at the exhibition was a large Replica model of Lucknow Metro Train and the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) Model. Lucknow Metro Mascot was an instant hit among the visitors and they were seen enjoying by taking numerous selfies at the point. Lucknow Metro toy train model, GoSmart Cards and Lucknow by Metro book were up for saleat the UPMRC Souvenir Sale desk. Other souvenir items available for sale included fridge magnets, photo frames, executive clocks etc.
Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Kumar Keshav said, ”The exhibit stall put up by UPMRC reflects sheer brilliance, high aesthetic value and lots of informative as well as recreational items for all the visitors. It is my humble request to the people of Lucknow to visit our stall at Rajbhawan, appreciate and admire the same and enjoy the Fruit, Vegetables and Flower exhibition.”The stall was highly appreciated by the dignitaries and liked by all the visitors of the Flower Exhibition.
