Tuberculosis is curable and preventable.
Kanpur: The UN has set 2030 as target for TB elimination but India has announced to end the disease from the country by 2025. According to union health ministry data, over 9.5 lakh tuberculosis patients have been adopted under the ‘Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’, the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan has been envisioned to bring together all community stakeholders to support those on TB treatment and accelerate the country’s progress towards TB elimination.
A balanced diet is required during TB treatment. Providing nutritional support to TB patients is a key strategy for TB elimination, under which every TB patient is entitled to have a group through the Nikshay Poshan Yojana.

Keeping up with tradition, a food distribution drive was held under the aegis of “Uttar Pradesh Government” & “CSJMU Kanpur” today at “Maharana Pratap College Of Professional Studies, Kanpur” where nutritional kits were distributed to TB patients .
