Tushar Khanna learned scuba diving for his debut film ‘Starfish’

Mumbai: Making his feature film debut with T-Series’ upcoming film Starfish, Tusshar Khanna will be seen playing the lead in the adaptation of Bina Nayak’s best seller novel ‘Starfish Pickle’. As the name suggests, the film takes place in the depths of the ocean, which required Tusshar Khanna’s character to learn scuba diving.

Having never tried scuba diving before, Tushar Khanna obtained a license to practice scuba diving after four days of training and specialized training to learn scuba diving.

Since scuba diving is an integral part of the character, the actors have been shooting in Malta in freezing temperatures of 11 degrees Celsius.

From donning a professional diving suit that requires covering the body in soapy water to regularly dousing himself with hot water to maintain body temperature, Tusshar Khanna is taking all the measures required for the shoot . Shooting on a ship also has the added challenge of seasickness, with most crew members vomiting, with Tushar usually starving until he finishes shooting at night to avoid any interruptions.

Talking about the same, Tusshar said, “It has been an exhilarating experience. I have never tried scuba diving in my life, as an actor, it is very exciting to challenge myself to learn new skills for the character. I look forward to such adventures during my travels.”

Making a move from television to the silver screen, Amritsar’s outsider actor Tushar Khanna is all set for Akhilesh Jaiswal-directed romance drama ‘Starfish’. Produced by T-Series and Almighty Motion Pictures, the film also stars Milind Soman, Khushali Kumar and Ehan Bhatt.
