U.P. Agri Minister shares state progress report on scheme implementation with Centre

New Delhi: Union Agriculture Minister  Narendra Singh Tomar was apprised of the progress made so far in various schemes of the state in a meeting organized by the State Agriculture Minister  Surya Pratap Shahi in New Delhi. He also suggested to integrate the natural farming scheme being run in 26 districts along the banks of Ganga under Bundelkhand National Kheti Yojana, National Mission on Natural Farming, Namami Gange program.

In the meeting how cow-based natural farming is being implemented by the state government in 47 development blocks of Bundelkhand was discussed. A provision of Rs.68 crore has been made by the state government for this work. In the scheme, the process of implementation of the scheme has been started by selecting the cluster, preparing the list of champion farmers and farmers. In this episode, a study tour of the model of natural farming has also been done in Gurukul Kurukshetra by  Ministers, senior administrative officers, scientists and progressive farmers.

In five agricultural universities of the state, the model of natural farming has been organized by their Vice Chancellor on his university campus, for which good results have been expressed. By training the scientists of 89 Krishi Vigyan Kendras of the state, work is being done to increase this discipline in the state by preparing them as master trainers of natural farming.  Additional Chief Secretary (Agriculture) Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi also participated in this meeting.

Agriculture Minister  Shahi urged the Union Agriculture Minister to approve the scheme under the Food and Nutrition Security Mission, which was approved less than last year by Rs 28.5 crore. Under the National Food Security Mission, a request has been made to make available the pending amount of Rs 28 crore soon for the payment of subsidy for wheat seed. In this episode, a request has been made to the Government of India to release the necessary amount for the payment of the pending dues of the employees of the Atma Yojana. The state has done commendable work by making special efforts under the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. A request was made to make available the amount of administrative expenditure under the scheme so that the scheme could be given more momentum by giving incentives to the personnel engaged in it. For arranging sufficient funds to give new heights to the agriculture of the state, the Agriculture Minister of the state is engaged in personally resolving the problems by reaching out to the Government of India.
