Lucknow: Anganwadi workers have a crucial role to play in the rural space. And they are often a strong link to very important schemes that are being run, however technology has remained elusive for them. In order to make them technologically more savvy, the details of every scheme and program related to Anganwadi centers in Uttar Pradesh will now be available immediately. Every data related to the scheme will now be in the hands of Anganwadi workers. Yogi government is going to equip Anganwadi workers across the state with smartphones. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officers to give smartphones to the Anganwadi workers at the earliest.

It is learnt that the state government will also explain to the Anganwadi workers how to make better use of smartphones. For this, the Yogi government has prepared a plan for training of workers. Every Anganwadi worker will be given training in the use of smartphones. While the Yogi government’s smartphone scheme will facilitate the workers to work, there will also be increased transparency in the implementation of the schemes. Decisions related to schemes and programs can be taken on the basis of data without delay. The scope for corruption will be very less. 1.89 lakh Anganwadi centers are functioning in all 75 districts of the state. On an average, two Anganwadi workers are posted at each centre. In this context, there are about four lakh workers across the state. After being equipped with a smartphone, the schemes run by the Anganwadi, including the nutrition and care of children, can be implemented more effectively.

In a high level meeting with the officials, the Chief Minister effectively implemented the ‘Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana’ launched for the children whose parents have died due to Covid, as well as the children whose parents died due to non-covid diseases. The officers have been instructed to make arrangements for their upbringing and education. The CM said that the government will also provide necessary resources to such children above 18 years of age who are studying.
