U.P. Board Exams start today amidst strict protocols and checks

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (UP Board) High School and Intermediate 2022 examination is starting. The examinations of 51.92 lakh candidates of both the classes will be held starting today. 51,92,689 candidates will appear in the examination to be conducted in two shifts. In this, 27,81,654 students of class X and 24,11,035 in class XII will be involved.

Regarding the preparations related to the examination, Additional Chief Secretary Aradhana Shukla and Director Vinay Kumar Pandey said students will take the examination under strict monitoring at the examination centers. He told that in the first shift the examination will be held from 8 am to 11:15 am and in the second shift the examination will be held from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. For the examination, 8373 centers have been set up across the state.

On the other hand, a state-level control room has been set up in the Camp Office of Directorate of Secondary Education, Park Road, Lucknow for monitoring the examination. This control room was inaugurated by Chief Secretary Durgashankar Mishra. He also reviewed all the preparations related to the examination. At the same time, he told the media that strict action should be taken against the culprits of any center where copying is caught. He said that playing with the future of the students would not be tolerated. Monitoring of 8373 centers during the examination is also a big challenge. During this time, it will also depend on the power system to the internet system.

Effective arrangements have been made to prevent copying. There is a provision to impose NSA on organized copycats. The examinations will continue till April 12. Board examinations were not conducted in the year 2021 due to Covid infection, all the examinees were promoted to the next class. To monitor the examination centers of the UP Board, CCTV cameras have been installed in every room to prevent copying through voice recorders. Apart from this, there are routers with DVR for monitoring through webcasting.

A control room has been set up at the district headquarters as well as at the state level, from where the examination will be closely monitored through webcasting.

The arrangements for center administrators, room invigilators at the examination centers have been completed. In every district, zonal and sector magistrates have been appointed by the district administration, who will be travelling and make the examination copy-free. The department has formed five mobile squads.

Apart from this, high officials of the government and administration have been made nodal officers, who will keep an eye on the activities and submit the report to the government. The work of delivery of answer sheets and question papers has been completed. Numbered copies are being used in all the districts. An agency like STF is active to check the copying mafia in examinations, while LIU is being used to give confidential information to the district school inspector.
