U.P. Congress to get a state executive Committee soon

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Congress is likely to get a new state executive committee with around 150 office-bearers soon. According to party sources, women, youth and 50 per cent members from SC, ST, backward and minority communities will be included in the new state executive committee, as per the historic decision of the party in the recent Raipur plenary session.

The age of 50 percent members of the committee will also be less than 50 years.

A party functionary told a news agency, after the poor performance of the Congress in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the party has decided to undertake a massive organizational change.

Brijlal Khabri was appointed the new president of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee in October, but even after almost six months, he has not found a team for himself.

After the formation of a new committee in Uttar Pradesh, there is a possibility of appointments to the party’s districts president and other posts. Sources said that the delay in announcing a new committee was due to infighting and factionalism in the party.
