U.P. government working on unique shelter home for stray cattle
Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government of UP has started preparing to reduce the losses caused to farmers by stray animals before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
For this, the government will develop land with the help of NGOs to keep stray cattle in different districts of the state. The opposition has always been raising the issue of loss caused to farmers by stray cattle.
Now the government is preparing to keep at least 2000 stray animals there by looking at 25 to 30 acres of land in different districts of the state, NGO or any organization.
This land will be developed on PPP model where stray animals will be kept. In the rally in UP itself in the assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, referring to this problem, had said that it would be resolved soon.
Now the government is preparing to develop a land for stray animals in this way and keep them there. Soon it will also be kept in the cabinet. The Animal Husbandry Department has prepared the plan.
During the UP assembly elections 2022, the opposition surrounded the government on the issue of stray cattle in rural districts. Videos of bulls and other stray animals entering many election rallies were also revealed.
The Yogi Adityanath government is building cow sheds at various places for the cows abandoned by the people. In the UP budget 2023 also, a provision of Rs 900 per animal per month was made for the protection of cattle. A budget of two thousand crore rupees was kept for this.
However, apart from cows, the issue of Nilgai, bull is also hot. Due to this, there have been problems of crop failure. Along with this, many road accidents have also happened. In many districts including Agra, Etawah, Kanpur, people have also lost their lives due to bull attack.
