U.P. Governor shares real time experiences from her career with NSS students

Lucknow: National level National Service Scheme Award winners and members of the contingent participating in the Republic Day Parade, New Delhi paid a courtesy visit to Governor  Anandiben Patel at Raj Bhavan. Vice Chancellor of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra, Prof. AS Kabir, Regional Director of the National Scheme, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and members of the award winning National Service Scheme of the University, under the leadership of  A.S. Kabir, presented the trophy given by the President of India to the Governor.

They got her blessings by presenting it. On this occasion, Governor encouraged these  NSS student members and office bearers for their achievements and listened to them. She discussed their work and experiences and also explained how to understand the needs at the grassroots level and work to fulfill them.

In this context, she shared many experiences of working as an activist from village to village in Gujarat and understanding the problems of rural life. While discussing the rural families facing water problems, she shared her emotional experience and said that the village women used to dig at night to get water from dry ponds and would bring two pots of water home till morning.

She said that today due to the efforts of the Central Government, the ponds were revived, due to which the water level increased and the water level in the wells also increased.

The Governor of Uttar Pradesh told the student members that if any incident happens in the country, it affects every citizen.

In this context, she shared with the students a very inspiring incident of an awareness program during terrorist incidents in Kashmir. She told that when the tribal  women participating in the program were asked about the terrorist incidents in Kashmir, the women said in their dialect that if any part of the body gets injured, there is pain in the whole body. Similarly, if any incident happens in any area of India, its impact will reach everyone.

Carrying the point forward, the Governor also told about ensuring cleanliness in the offices of the Education Minister in Gujarat. Discussing the damage caused in the areas of Bhuj and Kutch due to the massive earthquake that hit Gujarat in 2008 and the challenges of reconstruction, she also gave information about the unprecedented work done in primary schools.

The Governor told the students that wherever they go to work in villages and slums, they should do such work which will bring change in that village and they will always remember you. While motivating the students for cleanliness, she said that even if you are alone, run this campaign, other people will also join you. She inspired people to never waste food, not to leave food in the plate and to consume drinking water properly.

On this occasion,  Regional Director, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. AS Kabir informed that Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra has received the biggest award of the National Service Dal for the members who went to the salute parade of the Honorable President on the Republic Day in the year 2021-22.

The Vice Chancellor of the University expressed her gratitude to the Governor for encouraging and inspiring the students.
On this occasion, 22 students including Additional Chief Secretary to Governor Dr. Sudhir Mahadev Bobde, State Program Officer Dr. Manju Singh, National Employment Officer, 04 members honored by the Honorable President under National Service Scheme in the year 2021-22 and 03 members honored in 2022-2023 were present. Other officials were also present.
