U.P on high alert, as Corona fears yet again loom large
Lucknow: With the increasing cases of corona, the health department has issued an alert across the state. All government hospitals and medical colleges have been asked to keep full preparedness.
A dedicated Covid ward has been earmarked for this in every medical college, while in other government hospitals, instructions have been given to reserve 10 percent beds in case the cases increase.
On Wednesday, 170 corona infected were found in the state. The number of active cases in UP has increased to 856.
This figure has increased rapidly in the last one week. In this, maximum 467 cases are in Gautam Budh Nagar. Regular monitoring has also been started by the Health Department and Medical Education Department.
However, the corona infected are not currently in need of a hospital. People are living in home isolation when infected. Instructions have been given to keep ready a dedicated Covid ward of 30 beds in medical colleges. If 15 patients are admitted in this ward, then another 30-bed ward will be dedicated.
540 oxygen plants have been commissioned
Staff training has already been done in medical colleges. There is also adequate availability of oxygen everywhere. About 540 oxygen plants have been commissioned in the state. Piku wards have also been set up in medical colleges and other government hospitals. The number of Piku beds has now increased to 6700.
Director General of Medical Education Dr. NC Prajapit said, ‘Corona cases have definitely increased but people are not in need of hospital. Still, all the medical colleges are fully prepared for every situation.
Director General of Medical and Health Dr. Vedvrat Singh said, ‘There is no panic situation regarding Corona. In such a situation, the treatment of non-covid patients is not being affected. If needed, 10 percent of the beds will be dedicated for Covid patients.
