U.P. to be gifted India’s First Urban Transport Ropeway

Lucknow: PM Narendra Modi will give a big gift on March 24 in his parliamentary constituency Banaras. Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of the country’s first public transport ropeway in Varanasi. The PM will lay its foundation stone at the Cantt railway station of Varanasi, preparations for which are going on a war footing. After the ropeway is built, the path of the devotees going to visit Kashi Vishwanath will be easier. On reaching the railway station, tourists will reach Godaulia within a few minutes and then proceed to visit Baba Vishwanath.

In fact, in the first phase, the ropeway will start from Cantt Railway Station and connect Godaulia Crossroads. During this, the ropeway will cover a distance of 4.5 km via a total of five stations – Cantt Railway Station, Vidyapeeth Station, Rath Yatra, Girghar and Godaulia Station. After the commissioning of the ropeway, the time taken from one to one and a half hour will be reduced to 16 minutes. Along with this, there will be a seating facility of 11 people in the ropeway car. The administration has stepped up preparations for the Rs 555 crore project. An amount of Rs 31 crore has been released for the first phase.

Significantly, its foundation will be laid on the visit of PM Narendra Modi to Varanasi on March 24. However, even before this, the stir in Varanasi has intensified. It is considered a great gift especially for Shiva devotees visiting Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Usually it takes one to one and a half hour to go from Cantt to Godaulia, but after the construction of ropeway, we will be able to complete this journey in 16 minutes.
