U.P. Tourism Minister feels tourists are finally looking at U.P. with interest
Lucknow: After the Corona period, Uttar Pradesh is emerging as a favorite state for tourists. The tourism sector is growing continuously due to the best law and order in the country and connectivity of roads, expressways, highways and air services. As a result, since January 2022, a total of 79402079 tourists, both domestic and foreign, have come to see various places in Uttar Pradesh.
Giving this information, State Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said that in the year 2018, the ranking of Indian and foreign tourists visiting Uttar Pradesh was ranked second and third respectively in comparison to other states of India. In the year 2019, the ranking of Indian and foreign tourists visiting the state is at first and third place in comparison to other states of India.
He informed that 28,88,60,600 tourists visited Uttar Pradesh in 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 respectively and 540600343 in the year 2019 and 87013225 in 2020 and 109753172 tourists in 2021.
The Tourism Minister said that there are many tourist places of religious, historical and archaeological importance apart from many scenic and delightful places for tourists in Uttar Pradesh. There are UNESCO sites like Taj Mahal of Agra, Red Fort of Agra, Fatehpur Sikri. Apart from this, there are also mythological tourist places like Mathura, Vrindavan, Barsana, Varanasi, Kushinagar and Gorakhpur, Prayagraj and Ayodhya, which are visited by tourists throughout the year. Due to this, along with getting business for the service sector businessmen in the state, employment and revenue opportunities are also being created. The state government is making every effort to promote the tourism sector.
